Keith Kuskopf Flybridge Cruiser 45ft
Description
MV Jacana is a hardwood timber Kuskopf 45 foot aft cabin flybridge cruiser, built and designed by Keith Kuskopf in Hawthorne Queensland in the late 1970's. It is powered by a very reliable single shaft driven Detroit SWVS 6-71 6 cylinder diesel 2 stroke motor rated at 225 HP using approximately 15 litres per hour at 1500 RPM cruising at 6-7 knots. The vessel is a three cabin, 2 head and 1 shower with the second shower only needing a hose and shower head, and with 1 cabin being a large aft cabin. The vessel is fitted with adequate electronics, a 7.5 kW onan diesel generator and a new domestic air conditioning unit.
The saloon is very large and has a built in galley with a sink and a new microwave convection oven. There are 2 double seats which can be used as double beds. The helm is spacious and it is easy to see how to operate the boat. The saloon has 2 sliding doors for acces outside.
It has ample space on the front deck and it is easy to acces the aft deck and flybridge.
The back deck is spacious and a good spot to relax in the shade on the deck chairs and have a fish.
The large flybridge has 2 benches and a driver's seat with the dual controls for steering, anchor, bow thruster, auto-pilot and a new marine stereo.
Over the past 5 years the boat has been lifted out 3 times for maintenance purposes, the last one being in October 2024 to fit a new bow thruster, do an antifoul and replace the anodes which cost around $25,000. We also had a new insurance risk evaluation report done, which certifies that the boat is in ship shape.
Over the last 2 years we have also fitted a new anchor motor, a new auto pilot, 4 new large 200 AH batteries and a new refrigerator.
To sum it up : a great reliable boat suitable as a live-aboard, cruising or fishing with the family or friends, ready to be enjoyed by the next owner(s).
